muffking Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Mondeo-MK3-Anti...1QQcmdZViewItem Above this guy claims to know how to enable the autolock feature of the Mk3 Mondeo , the feature where the doors automatically lock awhen you reach 5mph as a safety feature. I wondered if this would work on my '52 plate Galaxy Ghia??? Anyone know how to try it? Quote
NikpV Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 how about trying it   let us know how you get on  Quote
muffking Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 Ha ha, I think Nik has already sussed that I'm tight enough to post on here 1st rather than pay the quid it would cost to find out :) Quote

mumof4 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 why would you want auto lock when you can lock the car from the inside anyway????thats what i do as soon as i get in the car. :) Quote
Masked Marauder Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 why would you want auto lock when you can lock the car from the inside anyway????thats what i do as soon as i get in the car. :) It is described by some alarms as an anti-carjacking system, when the car goes over 10mph the doors are automatically locked. You can do this with many VAG cars, but not the Alhambra/Sharan, and you need VAG-COM. So I doubt very much it can be done on a Galaxy. Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 The rear door "hatch" locks and remains so until the drivers door is opened during the drive cycle so surely there should be the ability to extend this on throughout the door system using a global lock rather than a local lock. Maybe someone who has the full VAG COM could have a look and see if there are any options under the anti hijacking or anti theft area of the system. Quote
Guest thobbs Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 It might be alone the same lines as my 2003 Ford Focus, unfortunatley as I am at work and the wife's Galaxy is at home, I will not be able to test it, basically follow the instructions below... 1:Confirm that the perimeter alarm is disarmed.2:Close all doors.3:Confirm that the ignition switch is in the OFF position.Note: Steps 4 through 8 must be performed within 30 seconds.4:Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN.5:Press the power door lock UNLOCK button three times.6:Turn the ignition switch from RUN to OFF.7:Press the power door lock UNLOCK button three times.8:Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN.9:Verify that the RAP module chirps the horn. This indicates that the RAP module is now in the enable/disable mode and ready to accept program changes.10:Press the power door lock UNLOCK button one time to command the RAP module to toggle the autolock/relock feature ON or OFF.11:Press the power door lock LOCK button once to enter the command.12:Verify that the vehicle horn chirps one time to signal the RAP module confirmation of the command. There should only be one chirp indicating that the autolock/relock feature has been disabled. If one chirp is heard, followed by a longer honk, the autolock/relock feature has just been enabled. Return to step 10.13:Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position to exit the enable/disable mode.14:Verify that the RAP module chirps the horn once to indicate that a feature has been changed. It may work? Otherwise look on a VAG site for auto-lock or anti-jack... Quote
muffking Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 Well, I just spet around 20 minutes trying al sorts of combinations and it don't wanna know. I guess it's possible that this only works on the newer models? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 OK, listen up. The Galaxy is made by SEAT, part of VAG. The central locking is a VAG part. Autolocking is not supported on this model. Even if it was using a Ford proceedure would not work. Apart from the engine in some models the only thing Ford on the car is the radio and the badges. You're really driving a SEAT. Learn to live with it...... Quote
muffking Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 Oh well, it probably doesn't have it then :D Quote
lazyb5 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Can i stop pressing the lock button now been out for half an hour. :D Felt like Homer S lock goes on lock goes off....... :D Quote
Masked Marauder Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 your on a roll tonight arent you. What's that sausage? Quote
buford_t_justice Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 See thread below: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...t=0entry34597 I have VAG-COM and have enabled this feature a several VW's. However on the Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra the module required is not accessible and so cannot be modified. Quote
AndeeeH Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Apart from the engine in some models the only thing Ford on the car is the radio and the badges. ....and the rear number plate lights. :P Quote
greg_68 Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Well, I just spet around 20 minutes trying al sorts of combinations and it don't wanna know. How many hours have been spent investigating and discussing this thread. :D Just spend the 99p and find out. ;) Has anyone contacted him to ask him? He may just say no mate it don't work on a Galaxy. ;) Quote

MrT Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 There was a chap on the other thread listed above who had the autolocking on his 2.8V6, so is it model specific? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 There was a chap on the other thread listed above who had the autolocking on his 2.8V6, so is it model specific? He must have had an aftermarket alarm which did it, the control unit on the Galaxy does not do this. Quote
muffking Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 Which basically means that there's no point trying the guy on Ebay as it's obviously a Ford thing ;) Still, it saved me a quid finding out though ehh ;) Quote
